An Ode to Earth’s Magnificent Life

In a World That Now Sadly Seems

To Disrespect Most of Her Life Forms

Which I Very Sadly Find Truly Obscene

Music:  Little Red Rooster

A speck of sunlight peeks

Across the dark night sky

The air so cool and fresh

It’s now again time to rise

The Rooster now rouses

And ascends his throne

He sings his mornin song

The world is now his own

Mankind grumbles

Cat opens cat eyes

Dog merrily barks

A tiny Infant cries

The Red Red Robin sings

An industrious Ant hauls

The Woodpecker thumps

That tiny Caterpillar crawls

Big old Catfish jumps

Mourning Dove prays

That Porky Pink Pig oinks

And that Old Donkey brays

Horse he now gallops

Cow she chews her cud

Butterflies are a flutterin

Beavers they build with mud

Baby bird tries so hard to fly

The chirpy Chipmunk chatters

That regal wise old Eagle soars

While smart old Squirrel gathers

Soon shadows start to creep

Across this big old northland

Life’s cycle is now repeated

Yet once more all over again

Rooster now tucks

His head in real deep

The Rooster he knows

It’s now time to sleep

Old Mother Earth truly has

So many spectacular life forms

And why does it always sadly seem

Only we humans defile Nature’s Norm

Be thankful that we still have all of God's creatures to teach us lessons, if only we would heed them. Loved the poem ED;-)!

Good writing Mr. Ed. Roosters always act like they are the kings of the animal kingdom. And they might just be correct.

Mother nature's alarm clock. I noticed that the hens didn't wake up though. That's who he is really calling for you know. Great poem and the music would make it right. you'd have to call it "Rooster Blues" Lady J

ps. yes, it is sad that so much of this is lost to many. Lady J

Over here we don't doubt that if Gore had been in his rightful place, things would already be improving.. America has the influance on mankinds and the fate of every creature in its hands. But Bush thinks Kyoto is a japanese car...
