Her name is ‘Angel’

But her plight is not heavenly

A very wicked human abused her

Then abandoned her, most devilishly

Recently found on the mean city streets

Gravely ill, starving, and at death’s door

She weighs only about twenty four pounds

She should weigh at least sixty pounds, or more

This abused, emaciated, angel is anemic

She has an extremely severe skin infection

She is only one angel, of far too many today

That we seem to ignore, with very little reflection

I now sadly believe that the heart and soul of Modern Man

Must be dying, in a world that now seems to be perishing, too

Luckily, this one furry little angel was taken to a humane place

Where she is now recovering, from we modern humans, so cruel

Please help us to re-awaken this vicious old world

Please report any and all animal abuse that you see

I believe we desperately need a compassion revival

In a world truly meant for all beings, not only humanity
