“If I had a single flower,
For every time I think about you,
I could walk forever in my garden.”
Claudia Ghandi
And I always think of her,
Each and Every Spring.
She was a woman
Like any other
Very simple folk
A wife and mother
She raised her kids
She loved her spouse
She worshiped God
In His own House
She took from life
What life would give
Then she got old
And die she did
Her body’s gone
It turned to dust
But in my heart
A spark she thrust
Her spark still burns
Within my soul
I feel it now
It’s wonderful
It guides me to:
The simple things;
It teaches me:
What life can bring
A bird on wing
Blue butterfly
A misty morn
Loon’s lullaby
A kitten’s meow
The babbling brook
A pigeon’s coo
Her gardening book
A tomato plant
Dew on grass
A rose in bloom
That tiny ant
A quiet dawn
Soft rush of wind
Spring’s gentle rain
And, cinnamon
Thank you, Grandmother
For your spark,
Imbedded so deeply
In my heart
If I had a single flower for every time I think of her,
I could walk forever in life’s garden.
Spring 2008, Mr. Ed
I've kept trying to read this and my comp bombs out...
Here I go again...
