I very often dream about birds

But I knew that this was no dream

I had awakened to his mournful cries

He was definitely in the house it seems

As my mind very slowly began to focus

I surmised he’d fallen down the chimney

I realized all hell was about to break loose

In this trapped bird’s attempt to break free

He certainly wasn’t the first bird in the house

But my pets were determined he’d be the last

I could hear that the pursuit had already begun

And I knew that I would have to intervene fast

I jumped out of bed and now raced down the hall

Where I spotted lots of dogs and cats, in this chase

Barks and snarls and hisses, were echoing in the dark

And as I tried to get my bearings, he flew past my face

Little Jack, our aerobatic, high-jumping canine

Made a very daring flying leap, but he missed

Old Fat Louie tried a massive feline paw swat

But he was a tad slow, and now, he was pissed

I quickly began slamming doors behind me

Trying to corral this charging, hell bent, posse

I somehow grabbed their prey, and kept running

Soon, he was back out in the snow, once again free

I could see that our intruder was quite dazed and confused

But he was still alive and kicking, this extremely lucky starling

As I crawled back into bed, my wife now had a million questions

“Nothing to worry about – just another day in paradise, darling!”

Love this story and there is supposed to be an omenabout a bird getting in your house but its somthing that for the life of me I can't remember what it is.Maybe bad luck for the bird if your friends caught him lol

lol great story, had that happen a few times,
in the spring with the door open, no need for
a screen that time of year, sure enough a bird
flies in and cats and dogs were in pursuit...

PeeWee, many many years ago, a seagull (a dumb one so seems) went inside the kitchen by a crack open window, why? there was no edibles around, it wasn't cold (middle of summer, but in Frisco sometimes...) Kaiser, an Alsatian Shepherd Dog, six years old, around hundred pounds, bend on privacy and no unwanted visitors...decide to chase the dumb bird.
Scared the bird pooped all over the furniture before I could take the cobwebs from my brain dog and bird had gone thru the mosquito false door.
