The Full March Moon

Brings us many things

And every one of them

Are Harbingers of Spring

Some say March’s Moon

Is the ‘Full Crow Moon’

Since crows, now rejoice

As they caw a joyous tune

And numerous Native Americans

Referred to it as the ‘Worm Moon’

Since they knew, now sighting worms

Would herald in the spring season soon

And up in the great northern forests

Some natives called it ‘Sap Moon’

Since they knew, by this full moon

Maple’s sap could be harvested soon

I like to call March’s Full Moon

The ‘Red Breasted Robin Moon’

Since each year when I now see it

I know I’ll soon hear a robin’s tune

My five faithful old canines and I

Will be out there gazing at it, tonight

And, if my dogs start howling up at it

I just might join them with sheer delight

Today’s Full March Moon,

Truly Brings Us Many Things;

And Each and Every One of Them,

Are Wondrous Harbingers of Spring.

Beautiful poem Mr. Ed. I had to let the dog out in the middle of last night and the moon was so bright I could see forever. Your poem is written in a wonderful style. I printed it out and am keeping it in my special file.

There is little doubt that the Full Moon on March 10 will focus our attention on the ongoing debate between the desire to retain the status quo and the yearning for meaningful reform, in both our personal lives and on a collective level.

We've had robins since, what, the last week in January, first week of February?!? Getting a late start to Spring up there, Ed. :) 'Course, SOMEONE is reminding us that winter ain't quite done with us, here: after highs in the 80s the past couple of days, the next several will find us in the 40s and low 50s for highs, IF we're lucky. But going to get much needed rainfall - hooray! An excellent write and the midi is beautiful.

Ah yes, my months moon bro Pee Wee! I love this poem for all the beauty it conveys, and mostly for the message of spring and all of its creatures...I watched my video of winged migration last night. first time I saw it on the new 36 inch HD TV my nephews bought me for Christmas. I was so enthralled, i had tears of joy the whole time. I can watch that every week,especially now, what a difference the high def lrg screen makes, I felt like they were flying into my living room;-) Birds are so amazing and make me feel so blessed!

I like your term for the March moon better, Ed. I love this time of year with the green leaves returning and all the sweet noises of the birds. I saw some baby ducks, a few weekends ago, and sights like that always make me smile and grateful for Spring.

Well-written poem and it's good to read your work again. With our Hurricane Ike repairs done and life beginning to setlle, I have more free time to read and review again.
