“We all travel the Milky Way
Together - trees and men.
Trees, too, are travelers.
They make journeys,
Not very extensive ones,
But our little comes and goes,
Are little more than tree-wavings.”
John Muir
Music: The Journey
Wanderlust Now Beckons
So, down the road, we go
Heading south, this morning
To a gorgeous place, we know
ǁ
My spouse and I, are heading off
To a place we love, in the Tall Pines
We have wandered ‘Pinos Altos’ often
It’s a spot that we both find, quite divine
ǁ
It is a gorgeous place, down in New Mexico
Filled with rustic Western charm, and folklore
Neither of us ever tire, of wandering its landscape
And when we do, we think of those who came before
ǁ
Here, there is an extremely old gold mining ghost town
Here, old Apache Chief, Mangus Colorado, met his fate
Here, we still hear the voices of her ancestors, in the wind
Here, we can still see some wondrous wildlife, which is great
ǁ
Here, amongst these tall pines, the air still smells fresh and sweet
Here, we can wander, and now just let Mother Nature, be our guide
Here, we can forget our earthly problems, amongst these Pinos Altos
As John Muir, so aptly said above, both men and trees, are on this ride

See You All, Whenever We Return;
To Visit Pinos Altos, We Now Yearn.
