A Follow-Up To My Poem,
Yet Another ‘Puppy Palace’

Imagine, being born inside a prison
Without any love, and no sunlight
Imagine, being sick, and hungry
With no hope at all, every night
Imagine, countless days, just like this
Wondering, just what you did wrong
Imagine, after awhile, wishing for death
Imagine, dreading day after day, at dawn
Now, imagine the feelings you would get
When you see liberators, heading your way
Imagine, the utter joy when they pick you up
Talk to you lovingly, and then whisk you away
I imagine these are the feelings of two hundred dogs
Who have been freed from their prison in Tennessee
Recently rescued, from their horrendous Puppy Mill
Transported to much better places - given their liberty
Some of them have now been transported to a caring place in Chicago
Some of them have already been whisked away to a facility in Nashville
And, each and every one of them, today, surely has a feeling of euphoria
Now being cuddled, cared for, fed, talked to, and treated for their many ills
I’m hoping each and every one of these dogs, can forgive all of us
For the abysmal cruelty in their prior lives, at the hands of mankind
I’m hoping each and every one of them, will find a loving new home
And I’m praying that their story, makes all of humanity, a little less blind
Puppy Mill Facts
Dogs at puppy mills typically receive little to no medical care; live in squalid, filthy conditions with no exercise, socialization, or human interaction; and are confined inside cramped wire cages for life.
Breeding dogs at puppy mills must endure constant breeding cycles, and are typically confined for years on end, without ever becoming part of a family.
Pups from puppy mills are sold in pet stores, over the Internet, and directly to consumers, with little to no regard for the dog's health, genetic history, or future welfare.
Please Adopt – Don’t Shop,
Animal Cruelty, Must Stop.
Help Us, Give Them Better Lives,
With Far Less Misery, and Strife.

Speaking of puppies: yesterday, I saw the cutest little long haired chihuahua: only two months old, hardly bigger than a minute! And what a little licker she was; she licked me all over my chin and licked my twin sister in the mouth! LOL Such a frisky little lady she was! :)
