Four million gallons spewed, so far
Millions of creatures, now perishing
They all deserve better, from mankind
As Congress now holds ‘Blame Hearings’
British Petroleum, quickly blames - the rig contractor
Who now blames, the well subcontractor – Halliburton
Politicians now eagerly pounce, to ‘look good’ to voters
How much will our environment suffer, before this is done
We never seem to worry about our actions, until the ‘after’
Always, during the ‘before,’ political contributions, are King
None of the human players, ever worry about any consequences
While the money rolls in, who cares about any disaster we’ll bring
So called environmental safety regulators, look the other way
Politicians count the cash, the lobbyists give to their campaigns
Big Business delights in ‘safety shortcuts’ that they once again take
Hell, why worry about potential disaster, look how much we can gain
We American citizens, are also to blame, for condoning this, for so long
We so eagerly listen to political posturing, like chants of ‘Drill, Baby, Drill’
We actually believe, that politicians and big business, care about our concerns
And once again, we realize how foolish we are, as we swallow another bitter pill
Four million gallons spewed, so far,

Mankind has failed, numerous times,
But we are sadly now, a complete failure,
Because we now always blame someone else,
And, we never learn, from our hideous mistakes.
