Music: With a Little Help From My Friends
I got a telephone call, way back in January
About a starving dog, out there in the cold
He had been dumped, in a foreclosed house
He’s not a puppy; he’s at least eight years old
The young girl who contacted me feeds feral felines
Now, she felt extremely sorry for this left behind boy
Several of us, soon began attempting, to catch this dog
When we had agreed to help her, she was filled with joy
But it wasn’t an easy task, like so many abused dogs
This poor old guy, was now terrified, of all strangers
After several days and nights, we finally corralled him
And now, we were all thrilled that he was out of danger
When I asked her what we should name this deserving dog
She decided we should call him ‘Izoku,’ meaning ‘Survivor’
Although that has been his official name, I still call him ‘Izzy’
He has gained much needed weight; there’s now luster in his fur
For the past five months, good old Izzy has received foster care
From a wonderful friend, who operates a ‘Pet Day Care’ facility
And in the past five months, the transformation he has undergone
For everyone who has been involved, has been quite a joy, to see
Good old Izzy, is thankfully, no longer terrorized by human beings
He’s now quite a happy old fella; no longer does he have to roam
Good old Izoku, he’s finally found someone, who really loves him
Izzy, a very deserving survivor, has finally found a very good home
Please Adopt; Don’t Shop,
For Your Next Family Pet;
There Are So Many Out There,
Who Need Loving New Homes Yet.
