She had been very cruelly and callously, left behind
At a boarded foreclosed home, to fend for herself
Canines, would never abandon their human friends
Yet every day, we put so many canines, through hell
We are finding them, being dumped, in cities and towns
We are finding them, locked inside our abandoned homes
We are finding them, chained up in junkyards, in the cold
We are finding them, very forlornly wandering, so all alone
Yet, their capacity to forgive us our sins, is truly immense
Unlike we human beings, canines never retain any animosity
With just a little kindness, they are willing to forget our cruelty
With just a little attention and tender loving care, they are happy
Only one week ago, this sweetheart my spouse has named ‘Carrie’
Was extremely weak, and she was starving, and covered with fleas
Today, she is all smiles, as she smothers my wife and I, with kisses
Since early childhood, dogs have been role models for living, for me
Please join us, in making canine lives much better,
Man’s Best Friend, truly deserves all of our respect;
If there is a better role model for how we should live life,
Than a marvelous canine, I surely have not found them yet.

My girlfriend rescued a little nine pound mixed breed dog that was very defensive and combative to other dogs. Now, after receiving four months of love and attention, Gertie has become one of the sweetest animals we've ever seen.
