The Bloodbath Has Begun

These days, when I’m not out rounding up abandoned pets,

I’m watching with utter sadness, our annihilation of nature;

And I believe they both speak very loudly and very clearly,

To our throw-away mentality and loss of respect for life today.

“In Idaho, they’re calling it a ‘Wolf Harvest,’

These once protected, sentient beings,

Are now being harvested like potatoes.”

A Wildlife Advocate

As part of their ‘Great Outdoors Giveaway’

Politicians have stripped wolves of protection

Removing them from Endangered Species status

To ensure corporate funding in their next election

Nearly 100, already shot dead, in the wilds of Montana

As of November 11th over 100 wolves shot down in Idaho

In Wyoming, they hope to murder over 200 remaining wolves

With the stroke of a pen, from ‘protected’ to ‘garbage’ wolves go

Corporate and political greed is now running rampant in our nation

And very few Americans are even willing to protest this blood bath

Also now on the ‘Death List’ are America’s once revered wild horses

We no longer care to protect them; they are also being slaughtered fast

This now blatant Species Annihilation, began up in the wilds of Alaska

And it has now spread to the western states and to the Rocky Mountains

Every wild form of life, that still stands in our way, is now being eliminated

Our nation will have nothing left to treasure when this blood bath finally ends

And I thought shooting them down from helicopters over Alaska was atrocious

There are now plans already underway, to soon utilize remote controlled drones

Blood thirsty wildlife annihilators, will soon be able to gun them down in comfort

Why bother trekking through nature, when you can murder them right from home

All of our citizens should hang our heads in shame, for what we are allowing to happen

Our ‘leaders’ branding once treasured wildlife as no longer wanted, disposable monsters

So they can justify, giving their once protected habitat, to foreign corporations, to plunder

While most of us sit idly by, as they annihilate life, and our nation’s majestic wild wonders

Wolves Are Not The Monsters – We Are

So tragic......it's heartbreaking humans believe themselves above other creatures....we're so not worthy in the grand scheme of things and yet we ruthlessly destroy life....I've said it a million times...I'd rather be around animals than most people!!

There is a new sense of urgency...your poetry must be read to get the word out!
These events are traumatic and cruel!

That Mayan calender, might know something after all. At a meeting to save the coyote from trapping, the wildlife officer appointee said, to a ten year old, ahead of me on the mike, "we are only trapping bad coyotes", like yours my answer was simular, the are no bad coyotes only bad humans, well we have been overwhelmed by these aliens, their greed and bloodthirsty behaviours as you see, are encoured by the government. Bless you for writing this Ed.

I was not aware of this happening, the very thought makes me sick at my stomach. I have to question... WHY? Has our government gone completely insane? Yes, shame on them! Will they kill all of the mustang horses who are so beautiful when they free run together? Where will this end? This is just unbelievable and very hard to swallow. I am both sad and mad!!
