-It Sadly Never Ends-

Another phone call, about another dog

This one dodging traffic, on a busy road

“She’s out near the airport in heavy traffic”

So quickly towards the airport, I did sadly go

I soon spent several hours, searching everywhere for her

But so very sadly, she had seemed to vanish without a trace

But later in the evening, we found her huddled underneath a truck

Fear, and loneliness, and hunger, were all now etched upon her face

We now quickly set up and baited, one of my trusty old dog traps

The scent of food soon had her creeping out from her hiding place

And soon, this starving, frightened stray dog, was safely in the trap

Now finally out of danger – yet another day, with yet one more stray

Very sadly, like the majority of canines wandering out there these days

She has no tags, no identification, no collar, and no life-saving microchip

If you have a pet, please safeguard it, and provide it with needed information

We know not if this orphan is lost or abandoned, but she deserves a life to live
