-->“Time and Space:
Time to be alone,
Space to move about;
These may well become
The great scarcities of tomorrow.”
Edwin Teale
When modern life starts getting me down
I always find myself heading into the wood
Here, I still find much needed time and space
Here, my body and my soul, can still feel good
Here, amidst Creation’s ancient and natural magnificence
Here, where humanity has not yet bulldozed and destroyed
Here, where I can still encounter many wondrous wild things
Here, where I can still leave our chaotic modern world behind
Here, where melodious forest songbirds, still comfort my ears
Here, where marvelous sights like this fox, still soothe my eyes
Here, where the glory of a late summer day, is still, as it should be
Here, where I can still enjoy God’s gifts, so very beautiful and wild
Here, where I’d be content to spend the rest of my natural days
Here, amidst the splendor of Earth, as it was truly meant to be
Here, in the place that I’ve loved since my early childhood days
Only here, can my heart and my soul, like this fox’s, still be free
When modern life starts getting me down,
I always find myself heading into the wood;
Here, I still find much needed time and space,
Here, my body and my soul, can still feel good.

"Wandering The Wood" sounds like a county tune!
I concur, with the strum of a guitar singing in the woods by a campfire.
What can be better?
God Bless You for all that you do!

There where you can frolic naked with your dogs for your own sake,
There where you don't bathe & end up smelling like a pig,
There where you can live and only wear a sprig of a twig...
There is where Ma says you do belong & I concur...e
Loved your poem!
