Music: After The Sunrise


It has been a long and brutal winter
We’ve had nearly 80 inches of snow
And whenever it hasn’t been snowing
We have had body numbing Arctic cold

But yesterday, the weather finally broke
My dogs woke me to a most glorious sun
We had been graced with a 50-Degree Day
A day now filled with hope, sunshine, and fun

After a shirt-sleeve morning out in the backyard
Cavorting and wrestling with my overjoyed canines
My spouse and I took a very lovely stroll into the woods
And the sights and sounds that greeted us there were divine

The forest birds were now all joyously singing to the high heavens
Numerous deer were now nibbling at the grass in the melting snow
Until yesterday, I had never realized how delightful 50 Degrees was
And as Twain said, this wondrously warm day, made my heart ache so

My spouse and I, my frolicking canines, and all of these woodland creatures
Were all now succumbing to Spring Fever, and what a truly marvelous feeling
But as we watched the evening weathercast, we realized that winter was not over
They said by tomorrow evening, another six inches of snow will again delay Spring
