“The Indian Summer of Life
Should be a little sunny,
And a little sad,
Like the season,
And infinite in wealth,
And depth of tone,
But never hustled.”
Henry Adams
Music: The Color Of The Wind
The forests were changing color
Indian Summer had now begun
It was time for a colorful sojourn
Before Indian Summer was done
Far too soon, old Jack Frost would arrive
And all of Fall’s grandeur, would be gone
Far too soon, we would wake one morning
And find numerous snowflakes on our lawn
I have always loved each of Earth’s four seasons
But I am always saddened, when each of them go
So, we headed off, on our Indian Summer Sojourn
Through the woodland, that my spouse and I love so
She packed a delightful picnic lunch, and we were on our way
Traveling through colorful meadows and forests, with our dogs
Our destination, a lovely little wildwood lake that we both adore
Our picnic table a grassy lakeside area, our chairs rugged old logs
And this little Indian Summer Sojourn was marvelous for all of us
It was a perfect afternoon, extremely peaceful, colorful, and serene
Mother Nature was in all her Autumnal glory, right before our very eyes
Now, both humans and canines look forward to returning here next Spring
The forests were changing color,
Indian Summer had now begun;
It was time for a colorful sojourn,
Before this Indian Summer was done.

The Eagle's beauty serenely glides as the Indian Summer's
beauty grasps our awe!

Mother Nature in her glorious array ...
Canines... both at your feet... and in your Mouth ...
Mean Tall Woman at your beck and call ...
An Indian Summer Sojourn in the Fall ...
A memory that will long Stay ... and repeat the Day!
Peace ...
