Yesterday Winked…Today Cried

by J. Allen Wilson — Read all 1,629 poems by J. Allen Wilson

Back in June, the events and forces of good and evil were mounting the hidden walls of an unseen world. Preparations were being made for the days to come. Much like my poem titled Bloody Summer in June states “Peace, Peace They Say, Then Cometh Sudden Destruction”. The lines are already drawn and the fulfillment of the days of trouble are at last at hand…be prepared and have your lamps trimmed…for yesterday winked and today cried.

Yesterday Winked…Today Cried

Yesterday winked into a sultry tomorrow,

Yet few seemed to take notice

As vultures perched on high surveyed the carrion of man’s sorrow.

For as yesterday winked, charred flesh fell from bone.

Today cried aloud without hope for the blood of ages,

And the horror of war called more innocents home.

Destiny quickened is revealed by the dust of a broken land

Raging culminations set forth in motion by the self hatred of man.

For he numbers not in wisdom the days that were once before

and he tallies not his fleeting tomorrows in the eclipse unspeakable of war.

With yesterday gone and tomorrow consumed by the night,

the revelations of man’s true sorrows will soon be brought to light.

So listen, look and understand…

the writing is on the wall and soon comes the son of man.

Well written piece. And so true. To put a little more hopeful thought, Jesus said, "When you see these things coming to pass, look up for your redemption draweth nye. When he comes, let's be ready,

I think the writing is on the wall these days, and it doesn't bode well.

We have history as a reminder of the demons that lurk for judgement day and in some respects it is already here for others. I believe in truth and compassion and that these two attributes in a person along with love...will enforce the leap into heaven that history also tells us is coming. One needs to believe as you say...the demons are here...just waiting.

Intriquing and interesting view of what was seemingly predicted and slowly emerging as the civilized world seems on the edge of collapse.
