Unnatural Silence
Steely cold is unnatural silence; the simile of darkness’s twin brother.
Shadows slink and move about; gray shapes cling to the wall.
Lips tremble, forced is the breath to utter a word…silence befalls another.
Cars whiz without sound; people move their lips, their tongues wag a muted chorus.
Unnatural silence in a dark world; should ever the heart they hear?
Perpetual motion rules; rituals performed without thought or heart.
Unnatural is the silence; the twin brother of the dark.

This one has creepiness written all over it - but is so well penned - I love it!
