The Stranger and The Cross

Soft warm sun fell in soothing rays across the full of my face.

Birds sung sweet melodies from the tall pines nearby full of grace.

I sat cross-legged at the head of Leah’s still freshly dug grave.

I spoke to her in gentle tones and thanked her for all that she gave.

I told her that I knew that she was not in this plot that lay beneath my feet.

But I know that she was listening; I know that she saw my tears.

I know that she spoke to Jesus for soon a stranger I did meet.

He came on foot from whence I know not; he came across this isolated land.

We spoke about you Leah; we spoke about how we were always hand in hand.

I told him of your beauty; I told him how strong you were until the very end.

I told him so many things, but most of all I told him that my love for you will never end.

I found out that he worked at a company not too far down the lonely road.

I told him about all the blessings; I told him of my hearts load.

So take a look and see Leah; remember the site that Rhonda made?

Take a look at the comment he left sweetie…just look at what he had to say.

After we spoke for some time…this stranger and I;

I knew that you knew my sadness and that is why you asked Jesus to let him come walking by.

I left there thinking of you; I left knowing that peace in my heart somehow grew….

I Love You Leah…I really do.

THE STRANGERS NOTE….

Today we met as strangers near the lady clinging to the cross. I was walking during my lunch hour, and you looked so sad and lonely that I felt the need to come to you and say something to cheer you up, or let you know that you weren't really alone. As is the way of things, what I thought of as maybe being a blessing for you, God turned into a blessing for me. I know there are no words of comfort that I can say that will ease your grief that you don't already know yourself. They are God's promise, and were written in your heart the day you accepted Jesus. I said a prayer for you after we parted, and as I continued my walk. In this life, some hurts never completely heal, but I believe that as you uphold your promise to Leah, one day you will notice the sun shining and the birds singing. I hope that will be sooner than you think possible. My prayer was for God to comfort you, and to ease, if not completely heal, the pain in your heart. May God bless and keep you Allen.

I still need to go to the cemetery often to My Tom. It doesn't get easier for me, but gets worse as time rolls on by without him. I don't want any other but him, noone could replace him. I need to find peace and pray to God each day for it, but somehow the devil or something keeps me sad and lonely. Or is it myself doing this to me. I don't know but sunshine comes and I don't feel better about him leaving me. Maybe time will heal, if I wait and be patient, which is very hard to do each day. I know how you feel, lost, sad alone, and left behind by your love. That's no fun. But we must make the most of it if we can and go on. God does surely not want us up there yet, for some reason, we know not yet?

Allen,
Beautiful! God sends His angels just when we need them most. I also pray that soon you will wake up and realize the birds are still singing, that the sun is just a little bit brighter.

Many blessings,
~Linda

Allen,

An angel, this stranger? Seems like it - absolutely beautiful gift he gave you. Honors your grief and love for Leah, shines with hope for a brighter future - one day the birds will sing again. When you're ready. Thank you for sharing - well done.

(((HUGS))) love and prayer, Karla.
