Visions Of Light
I walked easy along the sandy beach with a smile upon my heart.
The winds were warm and the oceans surf was like unto a song.
The full summer moon peeked its red eye over the horizon.
And in the near distance I saw a lone figure standing by a tree.
A mere silhouette pinned against the falling curtain of approaching night.
The closer I got I could see it was a woman with delicate features.
She turned and smiled and I smiled too for she was expecting me.
The moon had now disrobed from its earlier bright coat of red.
And it was there in the diffused night light of summer I became free.
She took my hand and we walked quietly across the warming sands.
We stopped only once and both starred out at the white, black sea.
Then I awoke realizing that it was just a dream…
Or was it?
For my heart says it was a vision of a day soon to come.
The mind says it was a dream, but deep inside I know it to be real.
Life is too short to listen only and solely to the logic of the mind.
Because of a life without vision will always sleep in the silent shadows…..
on the dark side of the summer moon.

Here is another thought.
Our dreams are of our own making so this causes me to believe there is no dream that is just a dream. They all must mean something.
