Shadows Past- Tomorrow's Future

Shadows of those who are no longer here, some just friends and some I loved, seep into my dreams as if they are still here beside me. Is it a sign that I too will be just a fleeting memory (shadow) to someone else? Will you be just a shadow too?

Shadows Past- Tomorrow's Future
The past walks with me like a shadow which cleaves unto my soul.
Forward into the future I continue to march, eyes set ever ahead, Yet pasts shadow grows ever longer with each passing day ever so bold.
I turn and look. The shadow still remains. I stare at it and it looks back at me. Without effort from both my mind and heart I catch fleeting glimpses of ghosts as they pass through shadows way.
As I turn back away from the darkness and turn my eyes upon futures way,
I see tomorrow's sun but I hear the faint voices of yesterday.
Another day has passed as well as another friend who shall now join the shadow of all my yesterdays.
Someday, I too as well as you, will join the shadow of ghosts,
And we too will become someone’s memory of yesterday’s past.
