From a sky of gray
I with my brothers and sisters
Swiftly make our way
Crystal droplets of rain
Some oblong, some round.
Falling into both forest and field
Landing in brooks and streams
We begin our trek
To the distant sea.
Over rocks and cliffs
We go, some losing their way
Some absorbed by
The dry and hardened clay.
Yet, many of us survive
No longer rushing down
Mountain streams
But lazing our way
Down a river bed wide
Giving life a long the way
To both plants and trees.
Our number is fewer now
As we reach the sea
Leaving the fresh and clear water
And mixing with our brothers saline.
Drifting aimlessly for a day
Our Father the Sun comes to play.
We are born of the Sun
As we evaporate
Into our Mother's womb, the Sky.
Thus the cycle is complete
And crystal droplets
Never, ever die.
