Bid his soul goodbye
For time has lost its name,
As Shadows of the darkness dance
To silent tunes, profane.
Upon a ferryman’s grave,
Mourners beg his soul to save.
As laughter echoes down cavernous halls
The madmen of the night rant and rave.
Still I see, the folly of me,
As I try to reason this night.
The burdens I bare are plain to see,
For peace and quiet have taken flight
Only to be replaced by a desire to be free.
So,
I will bid you farewell,
if this favor you will do.
It is simple you see, all I need is
For you to lift from the gatekeeper
His key.
And then from this prison tomb,
I will escape into the night,
I shall leave the legions of darkness
Wondering how and when,
the ferryman took his flight.
