Dad Sherman’s moment came – in Peace.

(Artwork by Francene Hart)

Poem Artwork

In loving memory, from his
“Maria”

*

Peace, the moment, and him

The moment fell, and him
- and peace was silent; a dusky feather drifting
to the foundation of ground.

It fluttered, and him
- and peace was a murmur, newborn, still hazy,
of one, of two wings…

Then rose the moment, and him,
to the inception of sky
- a bird, magnificently white
and whole…

And peace sang, and him
- the moment, scarlet, of dawn.

Amor da minha vida,

This poem is like a bridge over troubled water that leads my heart to an everlasting sunrise. Thank You for honouring my father in such a personal and meaningful way. I'm certain that he's smiling now and still looking forward to dancing the polka, one bright harvest day, with you.

Alexandra,
This is simply beautiful. I am so sorry for the loss that you two have endured, but grateful for the love you have in your hearts for him.

Dearest readers, fellow authors, dearest friends,
Let all the words held within my silence of so many days reach you, for now…with the warmth of arms embracing you all to my heart. And let them be heard by you, for now… as my heartbeats – each one, a thank you, all of them, of Love.
