And thus reclined did contemplate

But sadly she was very shy 
Although she snuggled close beside 
She'd duck behind her friends and hide 

She chose the form of Gilbert Grape 
To shield her 'neath his juicy cape 
And guarded by sharp Lemon Zest 
She languished in her wicker nest 

Vicky Plum and Kiwi Kate 
Amused by poor Joe's sorry state 
Tried to oust him from his spot 
But soon lay crushed beneath the lot 

The status in the basket's case 
Mean softer fruits can be misplaced 
'tis firmer fruits that hold their ground 
Supporting others in the mound 

The crisp hard core of Apple Jack 
Does much to boost the baskets knack 
Of quite enthroning fruity queen 
Her Royal Highness Tangerine 

And so it's clear that all within 
Are bound by rules of brethren 
For those who rouse politic state 
Will soon be transferred to a plate.
