Two for joy ; a girl and boy
at sunrise every day
through summer's haze and winter's ways
They own all they survey
{ wow ; there are 4 of them ; I stand corrected }
Resplendent in their monochrome
these guardians of the light
will greet the sunrise full of hope
And bid the world goodnight
In daylight hours, come wind or showers,
they'll dart amongst the trees
to gather all their tales and news
...then hover on the breeze
{I had a chat with the feral tiger cub
... just him today; but he's happy and healthy
... and the joy appeared on the roof overhead too ... wonderful}
The ferals watch, amused, aloof
This joy is theirs to share
No animosity exists
betwixt the ground and air
The chatter-chack ; like jackdaw jack
echoes 'cross the realm
as joy alights at rooftop's height
all set to take the helm
And sometimes, when the light is right
their wings take on a hue
An irridescent sheen ignites
A flash of raven blue
When sun bows low to meet their flow
they'll meet its mood with grace
And as it fades beneath the shades
their slumber, they'll embrace
For with the dawn, when light's reborn
joy has its role to play
they'll perch aloft, while daylight's soft
and bid the world "Good day".

I only wish you had revealed what bird this is, because I have been unable identify it from the photo provided.
Every morning we are greeted with joyful black chined sparrows who gather at our birdfeeder. Especially this morning because it's our first freeze and they are very hungry to ward off the cold.
And, we have a group of feral furry ones who watch intently from the sidelines, hoping to find a young bird a bit careless that they can snatch from life. Overhead there are hawks, they do the same. Nature’s way of keeping things in balance.
