Before the dawn
Grey light lifts to hint of gold
Where darkness weakly takes a bow
Night’s performance growing old
As Sunrise warms her pallid brow
 
Faint flush falls on ashen face
As colour strives to take her place
 
Sunrise
Morning wields its solar streamer
Silhouettes remove night's shroud
And sashay to their vast arena
Poised to charm, they’re standing proud
 
Languid limb at last unfurled
Cavorting with green underworld
 
Later the day
Dancing ‘cross the sunlit theatre
Each step in perfect harmony
As painted by the earth’s Creator
In flawless synchronicity
 
Shifting sheathes all marking time
Light and shade in nature’s mime
 
Toward Dusk
With Helius as their fiery King
They'll pirouette unyielding cause
But nightfall hovers in the wings
It’s clearly time to take a pause
 
They fade into the grey of night
Immersed in darkness, out of sight.
