A tablespoon of what is felt
way down deep inside
Half an ounce of common sense
and tuppence worth of pride
A quarter cup of temperance
a pint of tact and guile
blend them in a copper pot
and simmer for a while
Allow to cool just briefly
and add some cream of care
stir it with the spoon of love
to make it light as air
Pour into a porcelain jar,
shield it from the light
and there you are, your Love Potion
is ready for tonight.

I don't have a copper pot either.
Never that much pride on hand.
I enjoyed the poem.
