This Ship Has Sailed

So

long,

I waited

in the deserted dock

Whilst your chill wind tore

at my very soul, spearing my common

sense with shards of doubt. Until, at last,

I can only turn away and head toward the warm

embrace of the sun. Leaving your tall tales of promise

         to bob helplessly in the salted waves

As you skulk in my ever-widening wake.

This ship has sailed.

Not to trivialize the hurt of your experience, but "good for you." Obviously, your bob was still stuck in adolescent dead air. We guys take a long time, sometimes, to break loose from what the media machine knows is the key to profits: keep us adolescent. Good write.
