Heart wandered through a life unknown
Hurdles, trials, as though all planned
Along new paths as they were shown
Each taken, one by one, in hand
Heart walked alone. Au solitaire
No inkling of the road ahead
Until the day a comrade came
Whose kindly nature was mis-read
What Comrade gave, he took, and more
To bolster all his grandest needs
Excuses flowed from clever mouth
To justify self-centred deeds
Thus Heart was claimed by false appeal
Outwitted, captured, occupied
Such fierce emotion, held hostage
Whilst mutual feelings were implied
Once truth and dawn turn to the light
The heart that’s smitten, all at sea
No antidote to venom’s curse
To counter Eros’ treachery
With Love’s heart lost to poison dart
She shy’s from any replicate
All faith and trust, in fear, dissolved
Eluding Destiny’s duplicate
Most part, the Heart, defensively
Deflects all thought of past amour
Yet minute memories catch the light
And highlight history’s paramour.
I've been looking for the continuation of the story you have been posting, hopeful that the ending will be better than where it was at the last reading.
