Cold she is, in heart and blood.
Chilled from pain inflicted bare.
Cares she not for other’s plight.
Destruction felled and left her where
The clouds of sadness blind her eyes
And wrap her soul in chains of steel,
Armour ‘gainst the clash of swords,
Invading parts of ‘Her’ that feel.
Reclusive is her wanton dream,
Her latent wish for solitude,
Beyond the reach of human ruin,
Beyond the realms of turpitude
Where ‘other’ cannot dim her light
And plunge her into dark despair.
Where she can heal her shattered grit.
Where injured spirit can repair.
Until the sunlight, once again,
Rejuvenates her crumpled shell
And, once its warmth revives her heart,
She’ll rise again and bid farewell
To morbid thought and vengeful dreams,
In which tis ‘other’ who’s in pain,
And maybe one day she’ll be strong
Enough to live and love again.
