I seek down deep within myself

To draw the magic from my depth.

Those hidden aspirations …long

Interred by life’s sad, stifled breath.

That inner core of what I am

…which seeks a light to shine the way,

Cries out for recognition where…

…it has some hope …some passageway.

Some destined path to follow, till

…great dreams and visions come to pass,

Conjured up and brought to bear

…from inspiration’s looking glass,

Where sacred image glimmers, soft;

- Reflects my aspiration’s glee,

- Expands the warmth of thriving heart,

- Projects my fables back at me.

Old narratives within the mind

(So prone to spite, contemptuously)

Begin to change… and so dream’s roots

…burst forth to claim their clarity

Erupting with the light of dawn

Brand new potential takes the stage.

Belief strives for reality

…when captive soul escapes its cage.

Momentum gained, and promise, fed

Innovation fast uncurls

While clouds of doubt at last disperse

…and growth gives way as faith unfurls.

Whilst mirrored there, in lightning’s eye

The storm still rages far behind.

Calm waters run across my feet.

Clear skies reflect a peace of mind.

My vessel gently bobs and sways

Inviting me to climb onboard

Inward tide deserts dissent

Beyond the quay where hopes are moored

#

The wind of change shall ring the signs

And as tide turns, I’ll cast her lines.

So smooth to read and the transitions are wonderful leading me down the poem to its ultimate conclusion. Beautiful.
