What if, such people appear in life as a revelation to things we can't see?
...food for thought

Poem Artwork

How could such a story evolve?

Did I misjudge? Did I not see?
While the fury burned craters into my world;
...was unseen tragedy aimed directly at me?

Is he completely deluded ...deranged?
Does he flaunt fists with intention to smite?
Or was he conducting some weird intervention
  ... to drag something far worse into my sight?

Should I be asking...
What suffered most from his outrageous stance?
What can be seen; which was carefully hidden;
... now starkly exposed by this manic enhance.

As I reflect, on my world torn asunder;
I can't help but ponder on what's been unveiled;
All the clues that I'd missed, as I shielded my mind
... and truth, now quite evident, quietly revealed.

Quietly displayed, with no place left to hide;
Clearly defined in the cold light of day
And as the dust settles, true colours determine that
'What was',  was not true , but designed to betray.

The rules of the game, so covertly installed,
chidingly, crushingly, clouding my view;
until all my senses were battered and mauled
...as 'Right versus Wrong' wobbled badly askew.

So; what was 'unveileed'; was direction, distorted;
 ...a hunger to dominate ...breed discontent;
  ...and the many who fell for this fractious intrusion;
But what suffered the most, was its noxious intent.

And with knowledge comes progress; a shedding of shackles.
The dawn shines a light where the shadows have been.
Where progress brings healing, revelation inspires.
No longer can monsters ride rough-shod, unseen.

.......................................................................................................................

I wrote this from a mainly singular perspective.
But it occurrs to me that it refers to all walks of life, and any number of unsavoury characters we may encounter at any level; whose unsettling roles seem to serve as key pointers to that which we needed to see.
~ Food for thought.

 Reviews of "An 'Alternative Perspective'"

I have never, ever, been faced with the dread that you portray in this descriptive poem of your plight.

So, it is difficult for me to identify with your descriptive words here attempting to reveal what you went through. I sense that it was more mental than physical. But if physical, it wasn't specific like some of your early writings that I loved to read, thinking I was there with you.

Now, I'm lost to help you find the alternative you're looking for.

You Look FatCalgary by RickthePoetWarrior

Using Calgary as a backdrop the author satirizes the self-serving nature of the public as it continues to fatten itself, not only physically, but egotistically as well.
