Poem Artwork

Touched by morning light
the night releases hold
and gives the rain a chance
to sing her water song
of sweet refrain ...

She fills the earth with
petricor and gives a sigh
while trees of green
respire -grow like
benefactor arms

On morning's loft
a rose climbs soft,
she has no fear
of night nor day;

in sweet refrain
she sings the song of golden morn
until the bangs of night are shorn.

Ahhh . . . After my little dog, Zoe died I planted a rose bush beside my door in her honor. It needs constance care as did Zoe. I see her within the petals of the beautiful rose bush.

Some nifty phrasing like, "the bangs of night are shorn." And a real intent to describe the behavior of a rose, unlike so many, not curling up for the night.

You've captured some magic here, Vienna. Such a sweet scent in this piece. Shared it with my wife. 'Very pretty' she remarked. Well done. Peace... r

Ah, the lovely rose takes a bow in this delicate poem. Between the rain and the sunlight, the rose can but bloom.
