A Memory Of My Past

Poem Artwork

Every Wednesday he held a healing service for the sick
since Betty's cancer had spread to a point of no return
Fr. N was the only one she followed, with faith unbroken;
He stood at the front of the church and called us over
one by one. Up we went with all of our hurts and pains;
He healed by instinct and Godly knowledge, of this I have
not doubt.
Sadly, Betty did pass but not before receiving inner peace,
which that in itself was the greatest miracle of all...
Years later upon my return from Pittsburgh I visited this quiet
Anglican church with the hope of healing something deep inside
of me. My soul had been hungering for acceptance for many years.
"One of you is here to heal their inner child" he said,
"whomever you are please come up and receive your healing. "
I felt like he was talking to me so I got up and walked up the isle
towards him. He held a bottle of Olive oil in his right hand, after
anointing me he whispered, "Why do I hold a vision of split acorns
in my head ? "
Unbeknownst to him, I had just come back from a forest located
in Pittsburgh. I had actually picked acorns, and turning them in
my hands, I had noticed they were split and took them home with
me in a bag to glue together.
I went down like a soft feathered bird and when I came to,
I wept for half an hour, until all my fears subsided,
When it came to this special priest there was nowhere to hide,
he was a faith healer of the true st kind, always on your side...

YOU SPEAK OF HIM IN THE PAST TENSE, SO I AM ASSUMING HE HAS TAKEN HIS EARTHEN LEAVE AND IS RESTING IN THE ARMS OF JESUS. GOD...RESIDING IN THAT HUMAN VESSEL, USED THE PRIEST TO HEAL YOU. THE PRIEST WAS AN INSTRUMENT OF GOD, THE POWER IS GOD. OH, HOW GLORIOUS AND WONDERFUL GOD IS AND...HOW BLESSED THAT YOU EXPERIENCED GOD'S HEALING IN THIS WAY. THERE ARE NOT MANY AUTHENTIC 'FAITH HEALERS' THESE DAYS, YOU HAVE OBVIOUSLY KNOWN ONE. THANKS FOR THIS TESTIMONY, MY FRIEND. LOVE, BLESSINGS AND FAITH...HIS+INSPIRATIONS

I was brought up in the Pentecostal church, and I saw many healing miracles when I was young. Elder believers praying in the spirit (the gift of tongues, (I have the gift of tongues as well)) anointing the sick with oil, and asking the Father in Jesus' name, to heal the afflicted. I remember my grandpa Erik recounting to me witnessing mighty moves of the Holy Spirit at times, reforming eyes in a blind persons sockets, lame people throwing away their crutch's and walking, people getting up out of wheelchairs, cancers healed, etc.. Enjoyed this Vienna. Thank you for sharing. rlc

That is quite a story poem. There are two kinds of people in the world, leaders and followers. There are many many more followers than leaders. You are clearly a follower based on this poem. And the priest was a leader, able to understand your need and convey it to you in a way that you "believed."

Wow! Wha! What an amazing poem this is, because through it I catch a glimpse of God's Compassionate Healing Spirit. Jesus promised us He'd give us a peace that the world can never take away. May the Lord continue to anoint many souls through your poetry sister. May He use you in such a way that His will moves closer to being here on Earth as it is in Heaven!

In Christ our Lord,

your brother David
