A poem about staying mentally healthy

Poem Artwork

Memorial days of when my mind was clear as rain. Back then I did not feel so
Elementally insane. I used to whip up a poem in minutes and smile like a
Neuromental trigger happy woman. Then, as years went by I noticed the
Tell tale signs of aging and slowing. Stress settled in as life changed and
A virus spread through the land. I swallowed my fears and continued to
Love, live and laugh but something had changed. Me... My mental health...

MEDITATE ON THE GOOD THINGS IN LIFE, IT WILL HELP YOU STAY FOCUSED :)

Healthy is the man and woman who digs her own garden or grave, I say
Enlist in the power of heavenly beings and do your very best. Life is
A series of battles, lift your sword on high and don't let the devil win.
Learn to live with what you have and find strength and comfort in the
Truth. Mental health is pliable, it can break it can heaL, it can change.
Help is there if you ask for it. You are not alone, so share your story...

TAKE GOOD CARE OF YOUR MENTAL HEALTH, YOU ONLY HAVE ONE MIND !!!

 Reviews of "Mental Health"

Mental health seems to be the biggest issue nowadays because of the lack of employment and all the forced mandatory issues with the lockdowns. Many people suffer from loneliness and separation anxiety.

There is a wonderful message within this poem that we all should heed. Thank you, Vienna!

Thank you for sharing this. It is rich in salve for the burn of ‘how things are around the world right now.’ What a remarkable line: “Healthy is the man and woman who digs her own garden or grave.” I treasure this phrase: “…find strength and comfort in the Truth.” ~~ djl

"Life is a series of battles" indeed it is Vienna. And aging is a series of loses. Primarily cell death. Your piece touched me, because after my bout with Covid 19 (Dec2020-Jan2021) many of the things I took for granted physically about me changed. I won't go into detail. Mentally, after Covid, the smaller mental battles became larger battles that were eventually overcome with my faith, forgiveness, consistent prayer, proper diet, brain supplements, and staying disciplined to writing and reading. You might not be able to write a poem anymore "in minutes", but it doesn't matter. Because if you can still offer honest personal insights like this, your creative mind, and your warrior spirit, are still operating very well. Continued inspiration, and wisdom. Holiday blessings.... rlc

I have noticed that poetry here is a kind of group therapy where poetry is used as an outlet for one form of mental health illness or another.

I am so grateful at my age for still being healthy in spite of the onslaught of problems brought on by creeping paralysis throughout my entire body. So far, my mental health is still quite good and I don't fear anything other than the truly fearful, like falling in my dreams that comes quite often in the nights now. But I recognize it for what it is, just a dream and wake up. it is only when I don't wake up that things will be different.

Mental health is as important as physical health, two sides of the same coin. Sound advice here.
