I can see it hovering this gathering cloud of mine
waiting

Dark clouds have short life-span. After it rains it disappears. Not a thing to worry about. Yup! put up a good fight, do the sun dance to keep the clouds away.
Putting up the good fight! Sartre said, "Hell is other people." I would alter that a bit in your case. In your case, Hell may be your own thoughts. But I see that you are taking steps to make sure that those thoughts do not control your life from here on out.
