I did stare into the face of death… He did glare back, His name he said was Jack, He wore a hood & did carry a scythe, He did keep his distance; he did not attack… Fear did take hold of me, He did sense this and giggled with glee, He thought he did have me when in fear I did pee, I did stand my ground; I did not flee… He held his stare, as did I, Black as night and cold were his eyes, He sat there and awaited my demise, He said he truly me did despise, Then he did something I thought out of character, He did swat at the, surrounding him, flies, Making him be the first to blink… © ed ~ 3/25/05
