Paradox…

Back thru time I wish to go,

To 1954, the year of my birth,

Want to visit myself that day,

And with myself just play…

But what if,

What if I did kill myself that day,

Would I exist after that to return,

Or would I simply vanish, never to have existed,

No life would I have to return to,

I know these thoughts are yes quite twisted…

Let me leave with myself,

A letter to the self,

To be read upon puberty,

To know what lies ahead,

If that me did grow to be another of the same, Ed…

All the warnings though, knowing me,

I would just ignore and pretend I didn’t see,

I would want to live my life as I, of it, did perceive,

I was stubborn and would not change,

Leaving in the wake of my passing, a great amount of debris…

Ed,

An excellent, introspective write. I don't play "what if" anymore, I just enjoy each day as it comes and try to learn from the past to improve my future.

That illustration is GORGEOUS.

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.

Hope you're staying dry, as well as Rufuz *WoOf!*. Wet dog doesn't smell too good, especially in cramped quarters. :) Stay healthy, my friends!

I think one of you is quite enough, Ed, so don't start thinking about cloning or anything like that to meet yourself on the day of your birth. Four or five Ed M's on this planet might cause the earth to self-destruct from Eddie overload!! <grin>
Take care,
Sherry

But it is going through all these events that brought you to a point in your life where you can recognize the need for change. So thats a good thing right? If you were to go back, its possible you would listen, yet there would be other lessons that would present themselves to you. Reincarnation is the time machine :-)

Wow - that's the year I left home, never to return.

Sorry, little brother - if you get that time machine working, let me know - I'll go with you.

Weird. Sane, coming from you. Still weird.
