She was forty foot of sloop,
I hate to say that of her I did snoop,
Owned by a wealthy sailing troop,
She has done several times the great circle loop…
Of wood was she constructed,
On her I was instructed,
She had class beyond any,
In grace she of herself conducted…
Her lines that of sailing ships of old,
A motor yes, but only for show,
She did not run at all slow,
Teak on her decks, her sails sewn to withstand a big blow…
She was a one man craft,
Like most men its owner thought himself daft,
He did keep her shining, no one at the name laughed,
Named after his wife, lost at sea, in a storm fell over the rail aft…
He could hear her speak to him when sailing,
When he was near or holding the aft railing,
Everyday he did spend of her detailing,
This was his wife, his shining example of love lost,
Remembering that day he lost her,
He could see her arms as she broke the surface flailing…
