Has power over me no doubt,
He’s certainly NOT my lil’ writers elf,
A straining pain he can inflict when he wants out,
He is part & parcel of both my inner & outer self…
Red and engorged,
He forces me to take up paper & pen,
Long and thick he gives no quarter,
Till words I enter on paper,
No proponent is he of the way of Zen…
No matter the time of day,
The one eyed beast pops out to play,
Tense and tight his head at me shakes,
Not allowing any rest till I do my best,
Only when he sleeps can he be mistaken for a snake…

You kno, off course, that the snake is in both the Old Testament and in Greek mythology, a sign of healing.
