Poem Artwork

Where they came from nobody knows,

No previous warning did they show,

Leveled our cities with one killing blow,

On our lives they did bring more than woe…

Our weapons ineffective,

Our leaders killed first, the whole elective,

Our worldwide military might, not effective,

Our orbiting lasers completely defective…

With our cities in ruin,

Our populace unaware what they’re doin’,

Our foodstuffs & transportation summarily destroyed,

Whoever they were just moved on, leaving us in a void…

Maybe if we had some warning,

We could have avoided all our mourning,

But they appeared out of deep space,

And surrounded our small planet…

No longer do we exist, if only we had less sand,

We may have lasted or been passed over,

If only our home was made more of granite,

We might still be living on our promised land,

We could still be the inhabitants of our small red planet…

This is kinda creepy. You and I must of caught the same mind wave cuz I just started a "world destruction" story today. Maybe I need some of the new smoke you have to finish it. :)

Effectively chilling and suspenseful. Loved it.
