To the beach today I went,

A boogie board I got to me lent,

The waves were oh so big, hurricane sent,

Unfortunately those waves in NJ are just for rent…

But damned if I didn’t have a blast,

Those waves so powerful I could have needed a cast,

I sincerely hope this swim today will not be my last,

But some years the water gets so cold & kind of fast…

I will still have today’s memories,

So few swimming it was quite nice,

Such an enjoyable afternoons dip,

The weather warm; the ocean without nip…
