Poor Little Boat...

Poem Artwork

The lifeguards gone,

The people as well have vanished,

They left the poor little boat,

On the beach by itself,

Is it because it is being punished…?

A winter storm will wash it away,

Maybe to return again another day,

I don’t much care what you say,

But it’s a dirty trick to leave it & run away…

High & dry on the upper beach,

Thoughtfully from the sea out of reach,

But will it stay where it was left,

The ocean strong, not even will keep it there,

Is its size & heft,

But don’t for it be bereft,

Think of it as it's running away, stage left...

I wonder if it is sea worthy still, perhaps a local charity group could take advantage of it as a rejuvenation project to sell tickets on once completed but yea so many of us would love to have boats and for someone to just desert one...sad.

Ed,
Indeed ssd anyone would just leave it there. As Mr. Ed says its also the animals that get left out in the cold.

Many blessings,

Ed, aren't they required to be registered? And if so, couldn't the authorities trace down the owner and fine them enough to pay for it's removal? Seems to me that there would be a way for the beach patrol to make those rascals pay dearly ..... Dick

I agree. Complete craziness, Ed.

What a sad society we've become,
Besides these poor little boats,
Even our once loved pets, we leave and run.
