Envy...

Poem Artwork

Just awoke from a dream,

I somehow was visiting,

With a family of extreme wealth,

And all I had was my health…

They owned thousands of acres,

Mountains & rivers were their backyards,

Green was I with envy,

Being rich in money for me is just not in the cards…

I know coming into money is not easy,

But just once I would love to know how it feels,

Worrying about the future does make me queasy,

But I guess I am bound to live in my camper,

For the rest of my life, & suffer a poor man’s strife…

I guess it's our nature to want more......be kinda neat to never have to worry about bills, groceries, heat, etc....ever again! Some of us struggle all our lives....but wealth isn't always measured in dollars and cents....my life is rich beyond belief with love, family, pets, and friends!!!

I'm with Jude on this one, we have to accept what comes our way, although I have thought of what it would be like to come into money.

You've got it made in the shade! That's what I'd love to do someday.

Love ya!

Wealth isn't everything in this world.....never give up....Miracles abound, maybe just around the corner.

Although I tend to agree with the previous reviewers, I also must say that I think we all from time to time dream of a better or maybe even just a different life. You say you only live in a travel home but you are free to do whatever you wish...so perhaps that is wealth in itself.

Do you have any idea how many people with money would love to be in a healthy man's shoes? We often think our life is not so great compared to another............and yet it is what we treasure in their's that they would give away to be in the life we are part of. You also had a dog's loyalty few will ever experience. You have had experiences few will ever have living by an ocean. Look around you my friend money isn't everything and most that I know that do not have it indeed live richer lives.

I have lived in both worlds Ed, if you read my short story you will know the world I lived in.

Wealth monetarily is not all it is cracked up to be. For you may have many possessions in a life of luxury so thought, but if the happiness is not there it is not enjoyed.

Balanced between the two, I trade living in a tent and not even the luxury of a camper to hold onto my happiness and joy of living. Therefore, I envy you :) I always felt I should be a wandering Sage spreading life, love, and laughter!

Ah, predictions such as yours has a way of proving you wrong. I personally predicted I would be dead before I hit forty, and very nearly was a few times. But I'm not dead, and I am happier than I have ever been in my life.
