Any advice most certainly taken and appreciated...

Poem Artwork

My back is killing me,

Though it’s better than before,

Used to be I could not get up without screaming,

Though every now and then you can find me cleaning…

I try to walk it off on my own,

Though I wish there was someone to walk with,

I can only talk to myself & my walker,

But find my walker is NOT much of a talker…

Still my back is hurting,

In my hips & across my lower back,

With no insurance I am unable to a doctor go,

But all they do is medicate it, not fix it,

Which further does throw my back into a larger fit…

i know, pain isn't much fun at all, try ibroprofen, i need to take 4 of them a day to keep my pain away. Mobility counts with us old folks.

Aw darlin' it is a tough go for you...
I have a herniated disc, but I have
learned how to spare it... It has not
bothered me in years...

I can only suggest (if you are able)
to lay flat on your aching back and
with your hands and arms draw your
knees as close to your chest as possible
Ice helps every 20 minutes to reduce the
swelling (do not use heat!, it causes it
to swell more)

I don't know your sleeping habits, but
try to lie on your side in the fetal
position with a pillow placed between
your knees and your back to the wall
if your bed is next to one with a pillow
behind it...
I hope this helps darlin'

OUCH. Back pain and I are old friends. TRUST me on this. All you can do is keep on keeping on, if you can't afford a doctor ... what I've done for 29 years! Love you, (((feel better HUGS))) and prayer --

Karla.

Yes, exercise is the only solution of any value. You might try changing your bed. A too soft bed can give you a terrible back ache.

Keep Walking, Bro. And get a dog to walk with you. Dogs are the best walking partners a man could ever have.

I have to agree with Jerry. You need to talk with a lawyer about SSDI. You have a legitimate problem and I'm sure you'll be approved. Look into it, Ed. You have nothing to lose and everything to gain. Have faith and God bless.
