A day off, as it were, yesterday.
Rene & I out for a drive,
We found a quaint little town,
On the banks of the Chesapeake…
Chesapeake city, small & eclectic,
Stores open with a great deal of small gifts,
Our afternoon full with hills & side streets,
My legs are getting worse, but I survived,
A good night’s sleep did of me revive…
Many boats to peruse,
A sailing vessel, maybe a transient,
She was a nice boat, but unfortunately under sail,
My boating tastes tend to enjoy motored boats…
I love it when you post positive poetry! And getting out with René was just what the doctor ordered. A few more achy leg days like that, and your real legs may come back. Not to mention other parts, so I won't. ;-)
So happy you and your Rene found glad tidings among the "quaint little town, On the banks of the Chesapeake." Memories such as these will fill your heart (you do have a heart don't ya Ed?) for many years to come. Enjoyed reading of it.
