Summer is over, finally

Poem Artwork

The heat & humidity tonight finally broke,

Now I don’t have to worry about heat stroke,

Rain has been falling saturating the ground,

Happy days for now are all around…

The best time of the year for the beach is now,

No more is the beach out of reach, oh wow,

No more littering by visitor’s who don’t care,

Lots of beach to relax on with room to spare…

Now begins the season that is mine & mine alone,

No longer do I need to keep cool & hang at home,

I can finally get out in the world and go roam,

Back to the place I love where I have in the past grown.

Your words "sound" happy, Ed! I can only imagine having my town overrun by people who don't care about littering etc. for a whole summer!!! Awful! I'm glad the beach is yours again. A dear friend of mine lives in southern Fla. and dreads the winters because of the same thing.

Love ya!

I'm happy to hear the humidity broke where you live. New York is still doused in humidity. Frizz is our name.

The Spring and Summer Seasons have been a bit unusual this year....the last few months it's either been 95 degrees or continous rainfall....At least the news people can't holler the word "Drought"....I am very ready for pleasant fall weather....But also keep hearing ominous tones for what's ahead this coming Winters....Sounds like it could be similar to the winter of 13-14 when it seemed to snow every other day and the kids went to school to almost the end of June....

Enjoy it while you can… Isaac is coming to a beach near you, very soon.

Jealousy in me there is
Wish I was a weather wiz.
I love winter, slow and quiet
Maybe two months and it won't be so hot!

It's nice and rainy here in Kentuck,
But who gives a philandering fire truck?
Rain or snow or sunshine all night,
It's time to write a story of fright...
Or flight? Or phenomenal cheer?
As long as it doesn't lead me to a beer!
Here, here!

Our Canadian weather is pretty much the same too. It's sort of cooled down a bit now. Guess summer is almost over.

Loved this one, but I am still dealing with the desert heat over here and this will continue for some time. So you can count your blessings.
