Be Grateful for your Dead gobbler...

Holiday humor.

Poem Artwork

Some don’t have a bird,

Some have to just eat a turd,

So pass around the word,

Turkey day is the 22nd not the twenty-third…

When you gobble down your gobbler,
Drink plenty of wine or spirits,
Just don’t become a wobbler,
And with your family at the table,
Don’t be a long winded squabbler…

Remember to thank the founder of the feast,

Even if he or she is a wobbling beast,

Hopefully your bird is well greased,

As well I hope for your sake it is very deceased.

Goll darn it I knew there was something wrong when the oven kept shaking and making strange noises. Happy Thanksgiving Ron,

At least we don't have to go out and find one of these wary turkeys and shoot it. Just plunk down a certain amount of money on other groceries to get a discount on the bird.

Thanks to the discount and a friend seeking free cooked turkey and trimmings, we have four with one in the oven. And it won't be greased, just wine infused with vegetable and fruit stuffing making it light and tasty, unlike Richard's disdain for bread stuffing sucking the turkey dry and tasteless.

And to find from his comment that you are on dialysis. Not a nice thing to have to do so often. I hope there is a way that you can eventually not have to do it. Turkey with all the trimmings is not a good way to start on that path. But Turkey itself, the kind that most people don't like, with less salt, is probably one of the most heart healthy, kidney healthy, meats out there. Low in calories and high in protein.

Happy TG Ed. Enjoyed your humor. We don't eat turkey. Never have. Don't care for it. Puts me to sleep. We'll be eating baked ham, sweet potatoes, avocados, and sweet bread stuffing with Michele's special gravey. Sorry to hear about the dialysis ole friend. One of our sons had to do that for a year before his kidney transplant. I have a man in my dept. at work who has it done four times a week. You take care. All the best this holiday season. Regards....Richard

Good one Ed. Happy Thanksgiving, But I have to ask, If turkey is so good, why do we have it only once a year? We're having ham.

Happy Thanksgiving, Ed! Fortunately, I won't be wobbling this year, just gobbling, gobbling and more gobbling.
