Jubilee Rains

Poem Artwork

I smell a sweet aroma, an aroma uncommon.

A man walking on a boulevard i see, with pain written all over his face.

A lady crying bitterly i see, as she kneels down in prayer.

A child orphaned i see, battered by life's hardships.

A young man down the alley i see,struggling with a drug's addiction.

A young woman on the arena i see, trying to make her career blossom.

Suddenly, the sound of thunder i hear.

I can see the rain, the rain of Jubilee!

Am happy like a clam, as i stare in wonder.

Like crystal raindrops, it's falling everywhere.

The year of Jubilee is here, if only you dare believe.

Wonderful poetic thoughts Mary! You woke up many souls and caused them to think and some are actually looking up. Blessed you are with a gift that is so rare. You touch the hearts of many because you show your Love for the Lord and how much you truly care.

You seem to be observing pain and misery without doing anything about it. Happy as a clam, you are above it, listening to the rain. As a result your poems seems a bit incongruous.

...with your poem, Mary...you've attempted to step
right in the center of that place...life...center
of unknown...to dwell there...hanging on the feeling
that something has been solved...after all...

I'm not a religious person, Mary, but I champion others who are. This nation was founded on the beliefs of the Bible, and over the years we have gotten away from it. I believe America is less than it was because of it.
