Weep not Nigeria, for justice is in the offing. Weep not Nigeria, for your cries resonate and ring. Weep not Nigeria, It's time for your African spring. Weep not Nigeria, none shall usurp your role as king. Weep not Nigeria, for soon in ecstasy you'll sing. Weep not Nigeria, for to towering heights you'll cling. Weep not Nigeria, and soar atop the eagle's wing. Weep not Nigeria, for your patience will gladness bring. Weep not Nigeria, it's time to sing the ding dong song. Weep not Nigeria, for your misery will not be long. Weep not Nigeria, for you are numbered with the strong.
This is truly an optimistic poem. I weep for America, because tyrants and jackasses have her by the throat. We could not unrig the elections of 2016, yet those elections coming this November will be worse.
A passionate plea to your country and countrymen. Nigeria is an enigma with more conflicts, tribal, religious and economic than almost anywhere else. Emerging and discouraging all at the same time. Bringing out all the best in all the worst. But Nigeria is situated in one of the richest parts of Africa. If the country can get its act together, Nigeria can become the showplace of a new Africa, rigid history and strong resolve to and poverty and land destruction in favor of building on what is already there.
Using Calgary as a backdrop the author satirizes the self-serving nature of the public as it continues to fatten itself, not only physically, but egotistically as well.
